Treatment

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical
conditions. It is principally concerned with the structure and function of the body,
as well-being depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective
tissues working in balance with one another.

Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage techniques to increase mobility of joints, relieve muscle tension and enhance blood and nerve supply to tissues and help the body's own healing mechanisms.
You may also be given advice on posture and exercise to promote health and prevent reoccurences of your symptoms.

Patients seen include those of all ages, manual workers, office professionals, children, expectant mothers and sports people. Patients seek treatment for conditions such as back pain, repetitive strain injury, changes to posture in pregnancy, postural problems caused by driving or work strain, the pain of arthtitis and minor sports injuries.
